Hi all,
We had the time of our lives. It was a wonderful, special, incredible day - every bit what we wanted and hoped; in fact, much, much more.
Thank you all for contributing so much and sharing it with us.
We wanted to make all photos available to everyone. If you'd be prepared to send us yours, either to our email addresses, or as a link we'd love to see them and share them!

Jackie and Ian's Italian Wedding
Confirming kick-off...
Just to clarify this for everyone - on the invites, we put the time down as 6pm, as that's what time we thought the 'ceremony recreation' would start. Subsequently, we've seen that the room itself is large enough for everyone, so there was no need for a 'ceremony recreation', given that everyone could come to the real one.
Therefore, we are all now meeting at 15:45 by the Fontana Maggiore. The ceremony will start shortly after in the Commune next to it.
See you all later!

Punta di Vista - finding it..!
The bar for tomorrow night is at Punta di Vista, which has fabulous views across the city and the valley floor towards Assisi. That said, it's not always the easiest place for folk to find if they're not used to it.
The 'main strip' of Perugia runs from the Fontana Maggiore to the Hotel Brufani. Walk towards the Brufani, and then turn left. Walk through the small 'park' and cross the road towards the city wall. The Punta di Vista bar is just 'over' this wall through a wrought iron gate leading to a veranda/terrace. Any trouble finding it, just give us a ring...

Inclement weather..?
We're anxiously trying to keep an eye on the weather, but it doesn't look fantastic. Seems hard to believe - at the moment, we're looking out of the window, with 48 hours to go, and it looks gorgeous - but we'll soon see...
While I remember- confetti..!
Just a very brief one - not sure we haven't said elsewhere.
Because the commune is in such a sensitive area, the authorities don't allow confetti to be thrown, and instead require that it's rice, in that this will get eaten by the pigeons.
Hope that's ok with everyone. Not as a pudding please, and for preference, not in tins either ;-)

On the way!
Wow, it's flown by. But everything that needs to be done in this country needs to be done in the next hour, because we're about to hop on the National Express in the Gatwick direction in about an hour's time.
We'll keep things updated while we're out there, including some pics to whet your appetite. In the meantime - just one bit of news, or, at least, clarification: everything kicks off in Commune in Perugia at 4:00pm. No doubt you'll hear from us before then, but we just wanted to confirm the time.
The Commune is really easy to find - everything in central Perugia (I saw an American guide book that referred to it as 'downtown Perugia' - that made me chuckle, and when you see it, you may understand why ;) ) is on the one central street, and the Commune is at the far Northern end of that street, next to the iconic 'Fontana Maggiore' (historic fountain) that you can't miss.
Can't wait to see you all!

Welcome!
Welcome to the blog of our wedding! We hope that before our big day on Friday 3rd June, in Perugia in Italy, this blog will be a central resource for any questions you might have. Accordingly, if you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to email us, and we'll post any further information here. We hope also that we can use this blog after the wedding to publish not only our pictures of our big day, but also hopefully yours! So please keep checking back. All our love Ian and Jackie |
